We have arrived!

We got in on Sunday night, good and tired, but we are here and mostly loving it! Just in time to miss the hot SA summer weather we hear too, so thats lovely considering it was 24 today but with a nice breeze to keep you cool, and they consider it a heat wave!!! I am very thankful for the climate here given my size these days and Owen's speed levels - he is not slowing down at all!
Owen seems to be happy in his new purple room, and despite not having many of his things or toys, he is coping quite well. The new telephone is a bit scary for him still, as it rings much louder and he does not recognise the ring tone as a phone yet - so we have had a couple of sets of tears today, and at one point he got lost in the house because its so big and he couldn't find us! But mostly he's adjusting just fine to NZ life. MacDonalds is still the same so he recognises that everywhere and knows to be upset when he does not get chips when we walk past - some things are international it seems!
We will put up some photos of the house tomorrow, but we aer using a loaned laptop here at the manse currently and havent looked at connecting our laptop to the current network so photo uploading is a little on the low priority list! The good news is we have tax numbers and bank accounts so pay checks will start soon enough and we found a number of great big playgrounds for Owen so we're set when the mostly empty house gets too boring! Might take a trip to Wellington next week if our shipping container isnt arriving yet (its stuck in customs, no fault of ours but Allied Pickfords apparently) and visit Lee's mentor pastor and family and see a bit of the island.
Off to try and buy cars tomorrow - or at least 1 - and probably do some more local exploring. Only got lost once today so that was pretty successful!
