It's been a great holiday despite much sickness, although we are all very glad to be home. What a difference it makes to be able to put Imogen in her cot and walk away, putting herself to sleep again for 1-2 hours at a time, and having both kids asleep in bed by 7pm last night!
Owen started Kindy yesterday afternoon and had a great time. He was a little teary when I picked him up but he had been fine the whole time. Today when I dropped him off he got a little upset again, but the preschool experience has taught me, the shorter the goodbye the better for both of us! He has only Thursday (party afternoon very conveniently for Owen!) left this week then 2 weeks break for holidays so it will be a nice way to ease into things. He knows one other girl at Kindy from Twikle Toes (Olivia) whose Mum is a daughter of members of our church so that is nice for him and me! Owen loves the playground the best, although they do have EXTENSIVE making tables with EVERYTHING he could want: paint, stapellers, stamps, ink pads, glue, sticky tape, fun shape punchers.... it goes on and on. He was in heaven. AND a large sandpit. And Kindy pets (which you can opt to take home on weekends - I am avoiding telling Owen this or we will have them MOST weekends!). So much to look forward to. I think he'll go back to preschool in third term just for the 2 sessions a week. Then he will have something every afternoon. We'll see if that's too much for him or not! Might be...
Lee is back at work with only 140 emails to get through this morning and a tonne of work before youth camp. I am still working the home horse - washing and cleaning that never ends!
Thankyou to everyone that made our holiday special. Especially thankyou to everyone who gave Owen some money for his birthday. This morning he went to the bank and exchanged his $155 for $184 New Zealand and then went to Toyworld and bought a Marble Run game, an electric toy drill, a Duplo Rubbish truck, a dinosaur puzzle and some paints, paper, glitter and a noise stick thing that is incredibly annoying for $2. He still has $50 to spend, although he thought he would save this "for the bakery"... we'll see! Thats a lot of doughnuts!
