A chance to write

I can not believe that Jonah is 4 weeks old already today! What an adventure we have been on!
Who would have thought (OK, Lee apparently knew all along that this was a serious possibility, but never voiced it to me.... thanks honey!) that I'd have had to have a c-section and that recovery from major surgery would be so hard.

It has been quite a struggle managing our 2 lovely kids and the heiffer of a newborn that is Jonah - I feel tired and exhausted quite a bit. Add to that, last week my wound got infected and so I have been on a course of antibiotics (thankfully we caught it early and I am improving rapidly). Jonah has already managed some sizeable (sorry about the pun) achievements in his short life: he was enjoying some tummy time last week and managed to roll himself from front to back on only the 3rd try - too clever! He was weighed by Julie yesterday and is 6.2kgs - weighing in at the biggest baby she has EVER weighed, at 13 pound 10 oz. Yes, he is awesome. All achieved in a week while mummy was sick.
He continues to be a really good baby when he's not windy: the down side of a good milk supply is too much gulping (just as Owen expereinced). The up side of being the 3rd baby is we know all about it, and how to cope with it much better. He's also nearly finnished 3 weeks of intensive Chiropractic therapy, aligning his spine after quite a cramped last few weeks in utero and perhaps not the gentlest of deliveries (from the yanking I was feeling!), and is behaving much better as a result of that - much better arm extension and leg movement on the right side.
We are still just waiting on news from the Neonatal surgeons on the plan for Jonah's kidney situation: all along they have been slightly dialated (read 'big'). Some Dr's have implied no worries, as "big baby: big kidneys", others are more cautious. We will see when they actually reply to us about what they want to do: no doubt yet another scan to discuss further about what they should do (if anything!).
We praise God that Jonah seems happy and healthy and growing in any case.

Imogen Loves him so much: she hates that he still is asleep too often. They often have play time on the floor or she dances with him in his bouncer. She likes to eat her breakfast sitting next to him in the morning on the toy room floor...

Tummy time...
And cuddles...

And reading him stories! Not sure if he is scared or interested in this photo?!!

THe kids went ot a party last weekend, for Ryan's third birthday: it was a pirate partry. Ginny just wanted to go in a pretty dress: but OWEN...
found a $12 costume in K-mart that Mummy didn't have to make, so that was awesome! They have been practicing saying "Ma" with a pirate accent for when we come home in 3 weeks...

Naturally goodie bags came home....

with party blowers: awesome!!!
