August Update

Owen on his 2nd baptism birthday. Thanks for the gift Bec, he loves to sticker and read the story.

Immy sporting her new cloth nappies - saving us a fortune in money, glad I bit the bullet and bought some - God Bless EBAY.

She loves to sit but still needs a hand to hold for balance.

Tea time trouble...

We have been having really great weather lately, today 18 degrees, but mostly mid teens with gorgeous sun - seems a shame to put Owen to bed at lunchtime really because he misses the best part of hte day for playing outside, but oh well! Here they are out the back on one of the first nice days, we've nearly had a week of them now!

There must be something in the water again because so many of our friends are announcing pregnancies - babies due in February next year, it is uncanny! I am thankful for our two beautiful children, but also glad that we will not be having another little one anytime soon! 2 is enough trouble for now! Owen had his appointment today with the paediatrition, Dr Smith, who thinks Owen is all ok, lots of black wax in his ears, especially the left ear, which is the one prone to ear infections, but it is not blocking the ear drums so his hearing is unaffected and the ear drums are looking all ok so thats good. He has a referrral to a speech pathaologist now, but apparently occording to the other mums at playgroup who are also waiting for appointments for their kids, they are about 6 mths behind on referrals for speech pathologists so it'll be another long wait. Hopefully his development will continue to improve as it has been.

They weighed and measured Owen today at his appointment and he is growing up to be a tall boy, still in the 90th percentile for height, and 75th percentile for weight!

Imogen had her 4 and a half month check with the nurse on Wednesday and is still growing well, on the same line in the graph, although maybe she has slowed a little, I think due to her bad feeding of late. She is still being a bit painful about attaching properly and then has bad wind as a consequence. The nurse suggested that maybe she actually has some silent reflux that is causing her usettled behaviour, and suggested starting a little bit of solids once a day to see if that helps settle her down a bit, but we tried last night and she gaged and vomited up the rice ceral she ate, so we'll see. She's really interested, grabs the spoon and puts it in her mouth and likes to suck and chew the spoon a lot, but wasnt so keen on the ACTUAL food... we might try a little bit more tonight and see how it goes, but I wont be forcing the issue as she is really a bit too young in my opinion to be starting solids.

We're really getting excited about our holiday with Bec and Tim in a few weeks and can't wait to see them and Bella again - she will have grown up so much since we last saw her! I've attached some photos of the kids and vids of latest activities.

Owen: 14.25kgs and 91cm tall.

Immy: 7.87kgs and 65 cm tall.
