Latest shennanigans

We have been having some simply gorgeous weather here in the Manawatu - 15 and sunny, even up to 18 on some days. Today I got washing on the line for the first time in months and it actually dried before it got cold!!
The weather has been inspiring us to do a spot of gardening too - see the photos of the flowers we have been planting. Owen still loves to dig, weed and water. Lucky for him there is a lot of weeds poping up due to the sun and rain combination! Everything is so green and fresh - certainly a change from our Aussie past. We are thinking about developing a vege garden along the fenceline leading to the garage/shed. We'll see how we go.
We bought a bike for Lee this week with a child seat on the back - Owen got on and had aride with Dad and LOVED it, so weekends might see a spot of cycling soon too, along the river banks and down the Victoria Esplanade.
Imogen has just started to sit on her own - she did it first on Wednesday (19th) at playgroup for a few seconds on the trampoline. Today Lee had her sitting unaided for about 10 seconds. It is really hard for me t makethe time to help her to practice this as its easier to have her in the bounder/exersaucer/jolly jumper etc but totally worth it when you see her developing like that. She had her first taste of apples on Thursday night - still not sure if she is really ready because she is pushing the food out her mouth more often than not, but she does like the taste of apple - another sweet tooth in the making! We'll keep persisting because her wind has been much better since we have started small amounts of solids and the chiropractor weekly, so its hard to tell which is helping most, so I wont stop either!!! I'd rather have the happy baby.
Owen has recently become obsessed with the can opener - not sure why, but he like to turn the top and open and shut the arms. Here are some photos of him enjoying quality time with the can opener.
Can opener while watching TV... multitasking...
Owen started swimming lessons last week, and totally freaked out and didn't realy like it, but we'll try again this week. He is so proud in his swimmers and such a poser... so cute.

We had a family photo today in the front yard for an update for you all... Lee 29, Immy 4.5 months, Owen 2yrs 1 month, Anna 25.

Owen is currently a pretty big fan of Lightning McQueen, VegeTales and AutoBGood at the moment. Still pretty obessed with the TV, but if he can get outside, very difficult to get him back in! We are all loving the sunshine - today I walked to playgroup at church. Looking forward to doing it again soon, it was a lovely walk and will be good for the continued weightloss/tone up/ fitness improvement.
On that note, I am very proud of my husband who has been working hard at exercising regularly in the mornings in an attempt to bring that cholesterol level down so much so that Owen feels out of sorts now when Lee doesn't exercise and he doesn't get to be in the 'good lounge' first thing! Keeps Lee honest and onto it! Hopefully the next blood test will show some payoffs.

Can't wait to see our Becky, Tim and Bella really soon (5 days to go!) and show them how well Owen can say all their names now. He's growing up so fast!
