Last weeks of things

YAY for the end of the year!! This is Owen's last week of Kindy (3 days left) and last day of Preschool on Wednesday. We told the kindy that Owen wouldn't be returning next year and they are very sad to see him go, however we feel the cange to just one centre, and only 3 days a week will help him cope better during the week. It will also free us up to go on family trips on Mondays again when we don't have old ladies church. Which by the by went very well for the end of year Christmas party today - the kids were thoroughly spoilt with lollies and chocolates and presents (a book and crane for O and a baby doll in knitted outfit for Ginny) and we all ate pleanty of yummy food.
We had the youth break up BBQ with families at our place on Saturday and all went well with about 30 people here. Yesterday we went ot the Fielding Christmas Parade and the kids loved it (too many lollies again! THey will have no teeth after this Christmas I swear - or many many holes in them!). Imogen loved waving to the floats and Owen was quite good at yelling Merry Christmas. We had a carols service at Fielding Church for the last evening service of the year too.
This coming weekend is the Christmas Family Interactive service at St Lukes and our kids will be dressing up at shepherds or angels - Mummy might go as an angel too. We have the Lutheran Village Christmas show tomorrow night and the staff office Christmas party Wednesday lunchtime. Lots and lots of Christmassing - Lee is starting to get that Christmassed out look about him (the reason he doesn't really like Christmas I suspect is because people can not restrain it to just one or 2 days! I guess I feel it really does disrupt the advent season when you are not really having to "wait" for anything at all when it's all spread out like this.... a thought to ponder for next year -maybe in the season and cause of Advent we will reject any invitation to a Christmas party that occurs before Christmas!!!).
I want to take the kids to the Christmas in the Square party this Saturday night too - I might get the youth girls to help me out with them!! Wendy and Amanda and Claire have been a great help in the last few weeks since they have finished school - the only downside being that my kids don't like it when they go home and Owen keeps asking if they can move in - NO! We are having our final cell group meeting of the year on Thursday too, so that will be wound up as well. I am looking forward ot the break and having Nanna and Poppa here in just 9 more days - Wohoo!!! We can't wait.
